LITTLE ROCK, Ark.—Alltel Corp. launched two new phones from LG Electronics Co. Ltd. incorporating the carrier’s Touch2Talk walkie-talkie service.
The LG AX390 allows customers to transition walkie-talkie calls to regular calls, send a text message to all members of a group and receive alerts when contacts become available. The phone also features a one-touch speakerphone, voice recognition technology and large forward-facing speakers, said the company. The phone is priced at $60 with a second phone free for new customers who sign up for a two-year contract or existing customers on certain plans.
The LG AX355 model features a 1.3 megapixel camera, picture and video messaging capability, speakerphone and voice-activated dialing. It also comes equipped with Bluetooth technology and BREW 2.1 capabilities. The handset is priced at $70 after a $50 mail-in rebate for new customers with a two-year contract as well as existing customers on selected plans.
