PLAINFIELD, Ind.—Brightpoint Inc. inked a deal to supply wireless devices and accessories to online retailer Newegg Inc.
Newegg operates a storefront for manufacturers of consumer electronics, communications equipment and hardware and software. The 5-year-old company claims nearly 6 million registered customers including IT professionals, tech-savvy consumers and small- to medium-sized businesses.
Brightpoint serves as a distributor of phones and accessories and has gained significant traction with several major mobile virtual network operators. Shares of the company slid 30 cents, or about 2 percent, to $16.01 following the Newegg announcement.
