Comverse to spend $19M on customer self-service vendor

NEW YORK—Comverse Inc. said it will pay $19 million in cash for privately held Netonomy, a developer of customer self-service, bill analysis and point of sale software for wireless communications.

Comverse said Netonomy’s self-service application suite enables subscribers, including consumers, enterprise and retailers, to activate and manage subscriptions, buy new products and services, and review, analyze and pay bills using virtually any device. Netonomy’s clients include Bouygues Telecom, several Orange operators, T-Mobile UK, Telstra and Vodafone UK.

Comverse executive Raz Alon said, “This acquisition is in line with our strategic efforts to continually enhance Comverse’s Total Communication Product Portfolio’s ability to generate revenues, strengthen customer loyalty and improve operational efficiency for communication service providers.”

Comverse’s stock was down slightly after the news to around $20.60 per share.
