AskMeNow begins TV advertising push

IRVINE, Calif.-Mobile search vendor AskMeNow said it launched a national TV advertising campaign to promote its search service. The company’s ad campaign includes 30-second spots that demonstrate the service. The spots will appear on channels including Comedy Central, VH1, ESPN and Fox News, said the company.

The tagline for the campaign is, “Welcome to the new world of mobile information.”

The company’s service is now available in the United States for customers of Alltel Corp., Cingular Wireless L.L.C., Sprint Nextel Corp., T-Mobile USA Inc. and Verizon Wireless.

The service allows cell-phone users to get answers to various questions by sending a test message to ASKME. Users are charged 25 cents per question, a charge that is tabulated on their monthly wireless service bill.
