SAN DIEGO—Skyriver Communications said it expanded its pre-WiMAX network in Los Angeles county to include Pasadena and surrounding communities.
The expanded network covers Pasadena, Arcadia, Sierra Madre, Alhambra, San Gabriel, Rosemead and El Monte, said the company.
Skyriver joins a growing number of carriers launching pre-WiMAX networks. Others in the United States undertaking such efforts include BellSouth Corp. and Clearwire Corp. Further, Sprint Nextel Corp. has announced plans to build an extensive WiMAX network with its 2.5 GHz spectrum holdings.
