DALLAS—Fixed wireless service provider Airband Communications dove into the southern California wireless market by scooping up RedWire’s high-speed Internet access and Voice over Internet Protocol business.
Airband’s President and Chief Executive Officer Mark Spagnolo stated the company plans to enhance RedWire’s existing network with WiMAX technology “to provide more businesses with the ability to secure the scalable bandwidth they need to effectively manage their growing data, voice, disaster recovery and network security requirements.”
Dallas-based Airband claims nearly 2,000 businesses as broadband customers, including Continental Airlines, Fender Guitars, Salomon Smith Barney and The Staubach Company.
