ST. LOUIS-MetroPCS Communications Inc. has tapped Amdocs Ltd.’s Qpass digital commerce platform to deliver mobile content.
The carrier said it will use the technology to offer chat and voting services as well as ringtones and graphics. Qpass’ platform will also support MetroPCS’ customer-care efforts as well as financial reporting, settlements and content promotions management.
Amdocs entered the digital transaction space in April with the $275 million buyout of Seattle-based Qpass.
“As the content market continues to grow, there is a need to ensure a standard, transparent way to manage, bill and settle digital content transactions purchased either on the service provider’s portal or ‘off portal’ from third-party media companies,” Amdocs executive Michael Matthews said in a prepared statement. “Service providers and media companies require more efficient financial management, improved customer-care capabilities, and real-time reporting tools to drive the success of converged digital commerce.”
