HONG KONG-Huawei Technologies Co. Ltd. provided a glimpse into its finances at the ITU trade show taking place in Hong Kong. The Chinese vendor said it expects to take in $11 billion in sales during 2006, having earned $5.2 billion during the first half of the year, representing a 29-percent increase over sales posted in the first half of 2005.
In international markets, Huawei said it brought in $3.4 billion in revenues, an increase of 36 percent compared with the same period in 2005. The company said contracts in international markets represent 65 percent of its total contract sales generated in the first half of this year.
“Huawei expects to deliver steady and sustainable growth as industry adoption of powerful IP-based technologies, such as IP Multimedia Subsystems (IMS), accelerate the pace of network transformation among operators.
