- Mobile production service provider Mobile Streams said it signed an exclusive worldwide mobile content deal with the famous Mexican wrestler El Hijo Del Santo. He and his late father, El Santo, have appeared in a variety of movies as well as in their own comic book. Mobile stream will offer content including wallpapers, true tones, made-for-mobile videos, movie clips and animated screen savers via its carrier partners.
- A Washington man typing on his BlackBerry caused a pileup on Interstate-5 that involved four cars and a bus carrying 28 passengers. The man apparently was distracted by his BlackBerry and didn’t notice traffic had stopped in front of him. Nobody was seriously injured in the wreck.
- Finland’s prime minister, Matti Vanhanen, reportedly broke up with his girlfriend via text message last month. Vanhanen met his girlfriend on the Internet and apparently ended the relationship with a to-the-point text message that read “That’s it.” Breaking up via text message seems to be catching on. Pop star Britney Spears last month sent a text message to inform her husband, Kevin Federline, that she had filed for a divorce.
