MindMatics L.L.C. is powering a text-message contest in two markets centered on NBC Universal Domestic Television Distribution’s daytime talk show “Maury.”
The company launched an interactive campaign that allows users in Las Vegas and Columbus, Ohio to send texts with answers to episode-related questions and other puzzles. Winners will be announced at the end of each program.
The effort, which adds localized contests to TV/text messaging promotions, launched today and will continue through Jan. 20.
“SMS-interactive elements are becoming extremely popular components of television programs across the nation and around the world, but to date have been limited to national broadcasts,” said Jay McNamara, senior vice president of sales strategy development for NBC Universal Television Distribution.
MindMatics also said it will provide its “mobile voice cards” for the new ABC comedy “The Knights of Prosperity.” The cards are available via short code and are designed to be virtual mobile trading cards based on characters from the show.
