Warner Music snags two new distribution deals

Warner Music Group struck its second mobile deal in as many days, announcing an agreement to distribute videos through MobiTV Inc. The music company said it will offer made-for-mobile videos including artist-created clips from Linkin Park and other Warner acts. The videos will be updated monthly and initially will be offered through MobiTV’s four genre-focused music channels.

“We want to stimulate the music industry with the best videos, TV shows and artist programming, while ensuring all parties get paid in the process,” said Nancy Levin, MobiTV’s executive producer of music television. “Because of this partnership we are able to sweeten our library even more for our 1 million-plus subscribers and we look forward to a long, successful partnership with WMG.”

Warner last week also unveiled a pact with Motorola Inc. to distribute full-length songs, music videos, ringtones and other music offerings on handsets. The companies plan to offer both preloaded and downloadable content and to market a single downloadable file of content-dubbed the Moto Experience Pack-in the second half of the year.
