Speedus Corp., a holding company that owns a variety of patents, said it will drop two patent complaints it filed against Verizon Wireless last year.
Speedus said neither company made any payment as part of the mutual agreement.
The patents at issue deal with the transmission of digital and analog signals on the same band, and low-power multifunction cellular television systems. The company filed a similar lawsuit against Alltel Corp.
Speedus said the recent U.S. Supreme Court decision in KSR International Co. vs. Teleflex Inc. was the impetus for the agreement because the decision has changed the interpretation of patents. That case revolved around patents having to do with automobile pedals.
