T-Mobile USA Inc. ran into temporary trouble with prepaid top-up service late last week, but said that most of the problems were resolved by Sunday.
According to carrier spokesman Peter Dobrow, the company discovered an issue on Thursday “stemming from a system upgrade that temporarily hindered some prepaid customers from refilling their prepaid account balances.”
Dobrow said that in the meantime, the carrier enabled customers with zero balances who were unable to recharge their accounts to continue making and receiving calls and text messages until the systems were back up. As of Sunday, he added, most prepaid customers were able to refill their accounts, but T-Mobile USA was still working to fully resolve the issue.
