A trio of independent wireless operators have partnered with Interop Technologies to deploy a range of wireless features such as short message service, multimedia messaging, wireless application protocol and over-the-air device management services.
Rural Independent Network Alliance, which serves wireless operators in the western United States, plans to deliver SMS, MMS and WAP services to their customers via Interop systems. East Kentucky Network, a.k.a. Appalachian Wireless, will utilize the Interop system to accommodate growing message volume. And Leaco Rural Telephone Cooperative Inc. has purchased hosted SMS, MMS, WAP and over-the-air device management services.
“We are pleased to offer flexible deployment options enabling wireless organizations of any size to offer state-of-the-art services to their customers,” said John Dwyer, president and CEO of Interop. “These cost-effective options enable wireless operators to increase their infrastructure capabilities as their business and messaging volumes grow.”
Interop Technologies offers a system wherein the company retains ownership of the equipment, but the operator can customize its solutions for customers. Monthly service fees are based on the number of subscribers served and no capital costs are involved.
The Florida-based company claims to have deployed its services with more than 40 wireless operators across North America, Latin America and the Caribbean.
