The following list includes venture capital and other investments into wireless companies announced during the past week. The value of the investment is included when available.
–D2C Games: Rubicon Venture Partners and 755 Capital Partners invested $6 million in D2C Games during the company’s Series A round of financing. The company said it will use the funds to further its publishing efforts and to create original intellectual properties for games and merchandising opportunities.
–Diversinet: Diversinet Corp., which provides wireless data application and security infrastructure products, said it closed a $5 million funding transaction through a private placement with Hospital Service Association of Northeastern Pennsylvania. The transaction includes the sale and issue of about 6.76 million shares at 74 cents per share. Under the agreement, William C. Reed, executive vice president of Blue Cross of Northeastern Pennsylvania, will join Diversinet’s board of directors. The funding will be used for working capital and general operations.
–NeoMedia: YA Global Investments invested $1.7 million into NeoMedia Technologies, which enables camera-initiated transactions for mobile devices. The company said it will use the funding to launch a global sales and marketing initiative.
