Nokia, Moto and LG bust out holiday phones: T-Mobile USA, Verizon Wireless expand offerings

Better late than never.
Handsets that didn’t arrive by “Black Friday” or “Cyber Monday”-the ultimate days for in-store and online shopping, respectively-may still make an impression on harried shoppers.
Nokia Corp. and T-Mobile USA Inc. announced that Nokia’s 6263 will be available online, adding a seventh stock-keeping unit (SKU) to the Finnish vendor’s portfolio at T-Mobile USA. The device had not shown up on T-Mobile USA’s Web site by midday and pricing was not confirmed, but a Nokia spokesperson said that the device would be priced at $80 after a rebate, with a two-year contract.
The 6263 is a flip phone with e-mail capabilities that include attachments, plus a combination of music and imaging features. The partners did not disclose the device’s on-board memory, but the 6263 comes with a 512 megabyte memory card and can accommodate a 4 gigabyte card that must be purchased separately. The handset includes an XHTML browser, a 1.3 megapixel camera and Bluetooth connectivity.
At Verizon Wireless, the Motorola Inc. Z6c slider phone is available online now and in stores Dec. 12 for $180 after a $50 rebate and a two-year service contract. The handset rides on Verizon Wireless’ domestic CDMA network and CDMA networks in more than 22 countries worldwide, or it will use GSM networks for roaming elsewhere.
The device offers a bevy of multimedia capabilities, and delivers Verizon Wireless’ Vcast Video and Vcast Music services, and a 2 megapixel camera.
Verizon Wireless also announced the launch of LG Electronics Co. Ltd.’s VX8350 “just in time for the holidays” (indeed) for $80 after a mail-in rebate and two-year contract.
The VX8350 is a glossy flip phone that offers the carrier’s multimedia services, supports Bluetooth and includes a 1.3 megapixel camera.
