–Credit Suisse First Boston lowered its 2007 EPS estimates on Leap Wireless to a loss of 99 cents and raised its 2008 EPS estimate to a return of 9 cents after the company reported preliminary fourth-quarter subscriber figures that were ahead of estimates.
Handset and infrastructure vendors
–RBC Capital Markets downgraded Motorola Inc. to sector perform from outperform saying the pace of recovery is too slow to justify the higher rating.
–Credit Suisse First Boston lowered its estimates on L.M. Ericsson for 2008 by 5.3% due to a slight reduction in revenue growth and potential market share losses.
–Credit Suisse First Boston cut its estimates on Alcatel-Lucent, saying it believes top-line growth will be muted for the fourth quarter of 2007 and 2008 due to the impact of currency and continued sluggish CDMA trends in North America.
