Infrastructure awards wrap-up: Alvarion, Nokia Siemens Networks and Redline

The following list details this week’s infrastructure awards for the cellular, Wi-Fi, and WiMAX industries. The contracts are broken down by transmission technology, country and vendor. The value of the contract is included when available.
WiMAX
–Angola: Alvarion Ltd. and Bridgewater Systems said they are providing MSTelecom advanced WiMAX solutions to support IP services planned in locations throughout northern Angola. Alvarion is providing its OPEN WiMAX architecture, which includes Bridgewater’s AAA Service Controller.
United States: Alvarion Ltd. said it is providing equipment for a WiMAX network covering Madison, Wis., operated by TDS.
Miscellaneous
–Chile: Comunicacion y Telefonia Rural has chosen Redline Communications to provide its RedCONNEX AN-50e solution to expand the carrier’s wireless broadband network in five cities in the southern part of the country.
–China: Nokia Siemens Networks said it has been chosen by China Telecom to provide solutions for its video monitoring service called MegaEyes. Nokia Siemens will provide its video monitoring platform, consulting and systems integration, IMS, network security and multimedia service delivery platform.
