Crain Communications Inc. has named Capel States to the new post of director of business development/electronic media at RCR Wireless News, Alan Bergstein, publisher of RCR Wireless News, announced.
In this role, he will oversee sales operations of the RCR Wireless News brand online at RCRWirelessNews.com. He will be based in New York.
States most recently was an advertising sales manager at NYTimes.com and The New York Times newspaper directing integrated communications, contract negotiation and account development for key telecommunications advertisers. He also has worked as an online director and associate publisher of Bio-IT World with IDG and as a sales director and associate publisher of Line56. His background includes experience with CMP Media, CMP Computer Reseller News & VARBusiness, CMP NetGuide Magazine, Bozell Worldwide, McCann-Erickson, J. Walter Thompson and BH&M.
A resident of New York, States holds a Bachelor of Science degree in advertising from Boston University.
