The following list details this week’s infrastructure awards for the cellular, Wi-Fi, and WiMAX industries. The contracts are broken down by transmission technology, country and vendor. The value of the contract is included when available.
Cellular
–Australia: Vodafone Australia has chosen Ericsson as the primary hardware and software vendor to support its national mobile broadband rollout, which will be based on HSPA technology.
–Germany: Nokia Siemens Networks said E-Plus has expanded its framework agreement with the company to cover an expansion and upgrade of the carrier’s W-CDMA network. The deal also includes expansion and enhancement of the carrier’s microwave transmission network.
WiMAX
–Singapore: QMax Communications PTE Ltd. said it launched WiMAX service in the main harbor and coastal areas of southern Singapore using equipment provided by Posdata.
