According to a post on efluxmedia.com Microsoft is working on a remote device for its Xbox 360 similar to Nintendo’s Wiimote. It’s not too farfetched to imagine that console games will include 3G wireless connectivity in the future, similar to Sprint Nextel Corp.’s WiMAX vision.
Embarq, the wireline business spun off from Sprint Nextel Corp.,has introduced a phone today that sounds like . a wireless device. “Embarq is the first communications company to offer its customers a cordless home phone with visual voicemail, news and information, personal phone books and local phone directories. Now customers can get information they need, when they need it, without having to turn on their computer and log on to the Internet,” according to the company’s press release.
The Associated Press reports that Hewlett-Packard is entering the mini laptop business. Hewlett-Packardis the largest seller of personal computers worldwide. One way to differentiate in the marketplace, of course, would be to add embedded wireless chips.
