Mobile entertainment community Limbo inked a year-long deal with Virgin Mobile USA Inc. to offer mobile promotions to customers.
Limbo, a 2-year-old startup headed by founders of the mobile marketing firm Enpocket, will stage monthly and quarterly promotions through text-message blasts and on the VirginXL platform. The campaigns, which have already begun, allow users to compete via SMS or WAP for such prizes as $1,000 in cash, a big-screen TV or a 2008 Ford Mustang convertible.
“Limbo’s interactive content is producing tangible business results for Virgin Mobile USA, increasing SMS usage among participating customers,” said Virgin Mobile USA CMO Bob Stohrer. “Participants indicate an increase in brand affinity and the viral spread is powerful, with over 70% of participants telling at least one friend about the promotion.”
