AdLink Technology Inc., which makes test-and-measurement solutions for telecommunication equipment manufacturers, introduced a new ATCA blade using Intel Corp.’s 5100 chipset.
The new CPU blade is designed to help telecom equipment manufacturers with a product that offers more memory, more storage and more connectivity options. It supports up to eight CPU cores and an Ethernet switch that enables flexibility, said Jeff Munch, CTO of the company.
AdLink, based in Taipei, Taiwan, but with offices worldwide, also closed on its acquisition of Irvine, Calif.-based Ampro, bringing its rugged design expertise to customers. AdLink said with the acquisition it is now the third-largest industrial PC manufacturer in Taiwan.
