Infrastructure awards wrap-up: Ericsson, Aptilo and Nokia Siemens Networks

The following list details this week’s infrastructure awards for the cellular, Wi-Fi, and WiMAX industries. The contracts are broken down by transmission technology, country and vendor. The value of the contract is included when available.
Cellular
–China: Ericsson said it signed GSM expansion framework agreements with China Mobile and China Unicom worth $1.3 billion and $140 million, respectively. For China Mobile, Ericsson will supply core and radio network equipment and technical support and services to expand the carrier’s GSM/GPRS coverage and capacity in 19 regions. For China Unicom, Ericsson said it will be the main supplier to expand the carrier’s GSM network in 10 regions, including in Beijing.
WiMAX
–Indonesia: Aptilo Networks said CSM has chosen it to provide its access and policy control service management platform for the carrier’s nationwide WiMAX network. The rollout will begin in Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tanggerang, Bandung and Surabaya.
Miscellaneous
–Bosnia and Herzegovina: Nokia Siemens Networks said it signed an agreement to provide an optical backbone network for BH Telecom.
