Panasonic’s Link to Cell connects cordless phones to cellphones through Bluetooth

Panasonic announced its Link to Cell KX-TH1211 accessory is now available at retail outlets.
The product connects a Bluetooth-enabled cellular phone to home-based cordless handsets and allows users to initiate and receive mobile calls from a cordless handset. The company said the product preserves battery life, offers better reception for moving throughout the home and allows customers to take advantage of free nationwide mobile calling while at home.
“We recognize that people value their cellphones as a key point of communication, but using it at home is often inconvenient, especially when they reach dead spots with no coverage,” said Bill Birnie, marketing director of the Communications Solutions Group at Panasonic Consumer Electronics. “Perfect for the millions of consumers who have eliminated their landline, Link to Cell provides a sleek, yet comfortable handset and a base that can be placed where cell coverage in the home is strongest.”
The product includes features typical to Panasonic’s cordless phone products, including caller ID and call blocking. The product supports up to two cellular phones.
