The following list includes venture capital and other investments into wireless companies announced during the past week. The value of the investment is included when available.
—Amobee: Motorola and Cisco Systems made strategic investments in mobile advertising company Amobee Media Systems. Existing investors Telefonica, Vodafone, Accel Partners, Globespan and Sequoia Capital also participated in the funding round.
—Eye-Fi: TransLink Capital led an $11 million round of funding into Mountain View, Calif.-based Eye-Fi Inc. The company makes wireless memory cards for digital cameras. LMS Capital, a new investor for the company, also participated in the Series B funding round. Existing investors Opus Capital and Shasta Ventures also participated. Toshi Otani, managing director of TransLink Capital joins Eye-Fi’s board of directors as part of the funding.
—Paymo: U.S. and European angel investors invested $5 million in seed funding into Paymo Inc., which formerly was mTN Global. The San Francisco-based company provides a solution that allows customers to make purchase online and pay for them using their mobile phone.
