AT&T Mobility has dodged another network bullet. The carrier’s East Coast customers woke up today to find themselves without access to Internet services. AT&T Mobility spokesman Mark Siegel said the issue was addressed and fixed by mid-day.
“It was a routing issue between the wireless handset and the Internet,” Siegel said. “Once we saw that, we were able to identify [the problem] and fix it.”
Siegel would not go into further detail on the problem, but did say voice and text messages services were still functioning during the outage. The problem became widely known after many bloggers posted complaints online.
AT&T Mobility’s network has come under increased scrutiny recently following complaints from 3G iPhone users that their devices have had trouble connecting to the carrier’s 3G network.
