Rove Inc announced the launch its latest version of Mobile Admin, network administration software that allows unified management of all information technology systems from a handheld device or computer.
Mobile Admin 4.1 now incorporates Mobile SSH, providing full connectivity via SSH or telnet. This allows administrators to view their Windows environment exactly as it appears on the screen of a desktop or laptop, the company said in a news release.
Mobile Admin “ratchets up the return on the investment organizations make in mobile infrastructure by transforming handhelds from interesting gadgets to a high-value platform for enterprise applications,” said Rob Woodbridge, CEO and president of Rove, a maker of a network platform for the enterprise.
With Mobile Admin, a user with a handheld device can kill lost or stolen mobile devices, unlock accounts, reset passwords, restart servers and perform a number of other tasks.
Tim Craig, manager of the support department for HSBC Bank in the United Kingdom, said he is impressed with Mobile Admin 4.1.
“The integration of key functionalities into one solution makes it possible to manage all our systems from a single interface,” Craig said in a released statement. “Mobile Admin dramatically improves our response times and allows the laptop to be left behind.”
