Bridgewater Systems announced a wholesale solution for WiMAX service providers that allows them to wholesale their spectrum to MVNO and other third-party operators.
The company said its solution allows third-party operators to offer branded services over the carrier’s WiMAX network. The solution handles subscriber management functions like authentication, authorization and accounting. Bridgewater said its product supports multiple wholesale/retail business models simultaneously in fixed and mobile WiMAX deployments.
Bridgewater also announced a dynamic session management solution that helps WiMAX service providers manage their WiMAX subscribers and network resources by managing the number of simultaneous active sessions per account or device. The company said this allows operators to reduce fraudulent activity resulting from multiple simultaneous subscriber sessions per account. It also allows flexible service offerings.
The subscriber data management capabilities allow a real-time view of subscribers based on static, dynamic and usage-based data.
