Ad-supported mobile game distributor Greystripe said it will expand its global footprint by partnering with India’s largest online gaming company.
The San Francisco-based firm is teaming with Zapak Digital Entertainment Ltd., a division of the giant Reliance ADA Group, to offer more than 900 free mobile titles through Zapak’s WAP site. Zapak, which claims 5.1 million registered gamers, will eventually offer the games through its traditional Web site.
Greystripe hopes to tap a market that generated $80 million in total mobile gaming revenue in 2007 and that will reach $450 million by 2012, according to Gartner. The company has gained traction in the United States and other markets even as <a href=https://www.rcrwireless.com/article/20081105/WIRELESS/811059985/Glu-shares-sink-on-disappointing-quarter established players in the premium-gaming space continue to struggle.
“Our partnership with Zapak is a significant part of our global strategy to dominate mobile game distribution,” said Greystripe CEO Michael Chang. “This partnership aims to create the de facto destination site for mobile gaming in South Asia by serving the highest quality games with the most engaging advertising experience.”
