President-elect Barack Obama intends to move quickly to put his own staff on the Federal Communications Commission, the head of his transition team said today.
John Podesta told reporters that the arrival of the switch to digital-only broadcasting on Feb. 17 is at the forefront of the Obama transition team’s minds.
He said the Obama team hopes to speed the confirmation of new administration officials but declined to say whether that includes a new Federal Communications Commission chairman to replace the office’s current occupant, Kevin Martin.
