New York-based directory-assistance company kgb said it has acquired Texperts, a text-based mobile search firm, for an undisclosed sum.
Kgb claims to be “the world’s largest independent provider of directory assistance and enhanced information services,” answering more than a billion questions from millions of users last year. The company said it picked up the U.K.-based firm to expand its mobile offerings, which include the text-advertising business www.118118advertising.com, in North America and Europe.
“Kgb is known for driving the knowledge industry forward by introducing products that bring consumers accurate, immediate answers to their questions, whether by traditional directory assistance services or through new text or mobile find services,” Texperts CEO and co-founder Sarah McVittie said in a prepared statement.
