@MWC: LogMeIn demos remote support for Android smartphones

LogMeIn Inc. plans to demonstrate a solution that allows for support for Android smartphones at Mobile World Congress this week in Barcelona.
The company said it will show smartphone manufacturers and mobile service providers how they can use LogMeIn Rescue+Mobile to provide on-demand, remote customer support for Android-based smartphones and mobile devices.
LogMeIn Rescue+Mobile is a secure, Web-based remote support tool that allows for customer care of smartphones, desktop and laptop computers and other computing devices. Support technicians can use the product to view and control and end-user’s device in order to configure, diagnose and repair the products as well as to provide training to customers on how to use their device.
LogMeIn Rescue+Mobile works on mobile devices that run Windows Mobile, Symbian, BlackBerry and now Android.
“Results from our service provider customers show that Rescue+Mobile can help turn a frustrated and potentially dissatisfied smartphone user into a delighted one,” said Richard Redding, vice president and general manager of LogMeIn’s mobile division. “We believe service providers supporting Android-based devices will benefit by offering an enhanced, remote support experience for their high-value customers.”
