Sprint Nextel lowers price on wireless, Internet bundle

Sprint Nextel Corp., which continues to wedge itself in as the cheaper wireless solution, has put two of its popular plans together and taken $10 off the total price.
The carrier announced its new offering, Simply Everything + Mobile Broadband, which bundles the two services together for $150 a month. On their own, Simply Everything costs $100 a month and the Mobile Broadband plan costs $60 a month. The new bundled offering does not include any additional or new features; it simply joins the two services and cuts $10 off the price for those who were subscribed to both previously. Simply Everything + Mobile Broadband includes unlimited voice, text, picture and video messaging, mobile Web and GSP navigation along with 5 GB of Internet access on a laptop.
Inside the announcement, Sprint Nextel stayed true to its recent marketing pitch, stating that customers can save $600 a year by switching over from AT&T Mobility or Verizon Wireless. AT&T Mobility’s unlimited voice plan costs the standard $100 per month and its 5 GB mobile broadband plan cost $60 a month. Verizon Wireless charges the same amount for both of its comparable plans. These two carriers, however, charge additional monthly fees for unlimited messaging or mobile Web.
Sprint Nextel customers can switch their existing plans to Simply Everything + Mobile Broadband without extending a contract, but new customers must sign a two-year agreement per line in order to take advantage of the new pricing. Simply Everything and Mobile Broadband plans are still available separately for their normal prices.
