Application: Moodio.fm, running on a BlackBerry Pearl with Sprint Nextel service and an LG Vu with AT&T Mobility service. Yay: Streaming radio to your cellphone, from just about any source on the Internet. Why haven’t we heard about this service before? Nay: Moodio.fm isn’t for the technologically faint of heart. Setting it up requires some patience, tech savvy and, in some cases, luck. We say: Moodio.fm provides a fantastically useful service that suffers from a number of usability challenges. It’s hard to set up, and is in some cases technically challenging. That said, if cleaned up a little, Moodio.fm essentially turns most modern cellphones into radios that can pick up signals from across the globe – which is pretty cool. |
