FCC asks for month extension to broadband plan

The Federal Communications Commission asked for a month extension to deliver the National Broadband Plan to Congress. In a letter to Senate Committee leader John D. Rockefeller, FCC Chairman Julius Genachowski said the extension would give the FCC, key stakeholders and Congress more time to develop the plan.
The FCC is required to deliver the plan by Feb. 17; Genachowski is asking for a March 17 deadline.
