Anyone who grew up watching MTV’s Pimp My Ride will certainly appreciate the effort the folks down at SoundMan Car Audio have made to kit out an otherwise crummy car with an awesome iPad in-vehicle infotainment system.
The firm, based in California, made a video of their car enhancing craftsmanship, which has become a viral YouTube hit in a matter of days.
Ripping out the front dashboard panel of a rather boring looking Toyota Tacoma, SoundMan Car Audio’s Doug Bernards demonstrates a near flawless iPad installation, and explains how the device will eventually be hooked up to an Audison Bit One processor and a McIntosh 6 channel amplifier MCC406M, as well as a special iPod dock which allows the digital signal to be pulled from the iPad and distributed to the BitOne via optical output.
Talk about giving your family car a bit of an upgrade! Sweet!
