We recently caught up with memory maker Kingston, and took a look at the firm’s latest class 10 16GB MicroSDHC, which boasts a super-fast 10MB-per-second minimum data transfer rate.
The firm told RCR that the card, the size of one’s pinkie nail, meant users could store between 7,000 and 10,000 photos on their phone.
Of course, photos aren’t the only things users may want to carry around on their handsets, and the big-storage, small form-factor card is also perfect for music collections, movies, video clips, ringtones and more.
Kingston also claims its microSD memory card can help users move data between phones, particularly useful for those changing service or upgrading to a different handset and who want instant access to their phone lists, settings, music, video games etc.
We’re also told that because of its ultra-small size, the card consumes very little power from mobile handsets, to give customers longer battery life on their phones.
The Kingston 16GB microSD also comes with an SD adapter which gives users the ability to use it as a full-size secure digital (SD) card in SD-enabled devices, including media readers like Kingston’s USB microSD reader and 19-in-1 Reader. This makes it even easier to instantly move pictures between devices.
