Mobile video optimization company Vantrix said it completed a $14 million series C investment round that was led by Tudor Ventures. Other investors in the round include Summerhill Venture Partners, JK&B Capital, BDC Venture Capital, Innovacom Venture Capital and Entrepia Ventures. The company said it will use the funding to expand its operations.
Adenyo, a mobile marketing software company, said it acquired MoVoxx Inc., a California-based mobile advertising company. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
CSS Corp. announced it acquired Glow Networks, a telecom services and engineering firm, and the remote infrastructure management services business unit of InteQ.
Chip design company Wintegra Inc. said it plans to go public with an initial public offering. The company did not release details on the number of shares to be offered or the expected price range, but published reports indicate the company hopes to raise up to $115 million.
T-Mobile USA reported revenues for the first quarter of $5.28 billion, down from revenues of $5.4 billion reported during the first quarter of last year. Net income for the quarter was $362 million, up from income of $322 million for the same period in 2009.
Clearwire Corp. reported a 72% increase in revenues in the first quarter to $106.7 million from $62.1 million reported during last year’s first quarter. Net loss was $94.1 million, or 47 cents per share, compared with net loss of $71.1 million, or 37 cents per share, reported during the same period last year.
Leap Wireless International Inc. said its total revenues for the first quarter were $654 million, up 11.4% from revenues of $587 million during the same period last year. Net loss for the quarter was $65.4 million, or 90 cents per share, compared with net loss of $47.4 million, or 74 cents per share, for the corresponding period last year.
Telephone & Data Systems Inc., parent company of U.S. Cellular Corp., said its operating revenues for the first quarter were $1.22 billion, down 3% from revenues of $1.26 billion for the same quarter last year. Net income was $49.1 million, or 46 cents per share, compared with net income of $74.5 million, or 66 cents per share, for last year’s first quarter.
MetroPCS Communications Inc. reported total revenues of $971 million for the first quarter, an increase from revenues $795 million the company reported during last year’s first quarter. Net income for the quarter was $23 million, or 6 cents per share, compared with income of $44 million, or 12 cents per share, during the first quarter last year.
Novatel Wireless Inc. said its revenues for the first quarter were $72.2 million, up from revenues of $70.4 million reported during last year’s first quarter. Net loss for the quarter was $3.4 million, or 11 cents per share, compared with a loss of $2.5 million, or 8 cents per share, during the corresponding period last year.
Numerex Corp. reported revenues of $13 million for the first quarter, up from revenues of $12.7 million during the same quarter last year. Net loss was $31,000, or breakeven per share, compared with net loss of $1.7 million, or12 cents per share, during the first quarter of 2009.
USA Mobility Inc. said its first-quarter revenues were $62.8 million, a decrease from revenues of $79.7 million the company reported during last year’s first quarter. Net income for the quarter was $8.9 million, or 39 cents per share, compared with income of $10 million, or 43 cents per share, for the same period last year. The company’s board of directors also declared a quarterly cash distribution of 25 cents per share, which is payable June 25 to shareholders of record on May 20.
Telus Corp.’s revenues for the first quarter were $2.3 billion, which was flat with the first quarter of last year. The company said growth in wireless and wireline data revenue was offset by declines in traditional voice services. Net income for the quarter was $262 million, or 82 cents per share, compared with net income $315 million, or 99 cents per share
ADC Telcom said its net sales for its second fiscal quarter, which ended April 2, were $274 million, an increase from revenues of $256.6 million reported during the corresponding period last year. Net loss for the quarter was $12.7 million, or 4 cents per share, compared with net loss of $433.7 million, or 6 cents per share, during the same quarter last year.
Brightpoint Inc. said its revenues for the first quarter were $795.3 million, up 15% from revenues of $688.7 million reported during the first quarter of last year. Net income was $1.4 million, or 7 cents per share, compared with net loss of $3.1 million, or 3 cents per share, during the first quarter of last year.
CalAmp Corp. reported results for its fourth fiscal quarter, which ended Feb. 28. Revenues for the quarter were $34.5 million up 62% from revenues of $21.3 million reported during the same period last year. Net loss for the quarter was $1.3 million, or 5 cents per share, compared with net loss of $45.8 million, or $1.85 per share, reported during the corresponding period a year earlier.
FiberTower reported revenues of $17.8 million up 21% from revenues of $14.7 million for the first quarter of 2009. Net loss for the quarter was $11.8 million, or 26 cents per share, down from net income of $26.7 million, or $1.76 per share, for the first quarter last year.
EMS Technologies reported $82.9 million in revenues for the first quarter, compared with revenues of $92.3 million for the same period last year. Net income was $1 million, or 7 cents per share, compared with income of $2.3 million, or 15 cents per share, during the first quarter last year.
