QuickPlay Media Inc.’s premium mobile TV service PrimeTime2Go is now available on Motorola Inc. Android-powered smart phones, said the company. The service allows customers to watch TV shows from major networks and cable providers on their phone. The service costs $10 per month.
Synchronica plc announced a contract win in Latin America for its Mobile Gateway push e-mail and data synchronization product. The company said the contract, with an Argentinean carrier, is its fifth Latin American contract.
OpenMarket announced it has expanded its multimedia message service connectivity for advertisers, mobile marketers and merchants to deliver rich media to mobile devices. The company, which is a unit of Amdocs, said it is now an approved MMS aggregator for third-party digital content delivered on AT&T, Verizon, Sprint, Alltel and Cricket Communications networks.
SyChip Inc. introduced the SyNode Smart Energy Embedded Module. The SyNode Device SN3020 is a small, low-power ZigBee module that supports Smart Energy and Home Automation profiles. The product incorporates a ZigBee system on a chip transceiver, power amplifier and low noise amplifier.
Telekom Slovenije has implemented Telcordia’s Next Generation OSS solution. The company said it deployed the product to help it speed time to market for mass market services and to drive opex savings.
Teletouch Communications Inc. said it will provide Blackberry smartphones to personnel at the 2010 Crowne Plaza Invitational at Colonial PGA TOUR Golf Tournament. Teletouch is a sponsor of the event.
KIT digital Inc. expanded its partnership with Sports Network Television to provide full coverage of the 19th FIFA World Cup taking place June 11 through July 11 to mobile phones, computers and TV screens. SNTV will use KIT digital’s VX-one platform, which includes editing tools that transform raw footage into broadcast-ready clips, localization services for video content in several languages, customization tools for modifying video, and syndication and delivery of coverage.
TeleCommunication Systems Inc. said it was awarded a re-compete contract valued at $1.8 million to continue providing managed bandwidth services for fixed satellite terminal sites supporting U.S. government personnel in forward operating areas in Southwest Asia, including Iraq.
