SIMORE shows off mobile payments

Mobile payments is widely agreed to be an up and coming industry and here at Computex Taipei there was certainly evidence that vendors are pushing ahead with products to facilitate the transition from ATM cards to SIM card transactions.
RCR was given a demo by a SIMORE rep showing how a mobile phone could easily be used not only to draw out cash from a hole in the wall, but also for various mobile payments, ticket reservations and even restaurant bookings.
We’re told that the design uses over 30 international patents and that the transaction type includes SMS/WAP/OTA/STK/USSD as well as near field, distal, micropayment and large payment. It also supports the GSM/WCDMA/CDMA2000/TDSCDMA/UMTS/HDPA standards and apparently conforms to all sorts of financial security level specifications.
The device is also purportedly compatible with over 98% cell phones and SIM cards. You can watch the video here:
Other products by SIMORE include a dual SIM which allows users to install two different SIM cards into one mobile phone, useful for using one device for two separate numbers. Switching between the two is as simple as two clicks, and could revolutionize international roaming.
