Separating work from personal life is certainly something most people would advocate, but when it comes to one’s mobile phone, it isn’t always easy to make the break.
Increasingly, people looking for work/life balance are taking to carrying two mobile devices around – one for work and one for their personal lives, but many just wish they could have two lines on the same device, a new study has shown.
Service company Movius Interactive recently sponsored a study by Frost & Sullivan polling 1,000 mobile users across the U.S. between the ages of 18 and 60, only to discover that 30% of cell phone users are interested in having second-line capability while a whopping 60% of multi-phone users are interested in having second-line capability.
The primary reason for this separation urge, said Frost & Sullivan was to separate business and personal calls.
Of course, all this is very good news for Movius which has been showing off its multi-line mobile service called Side-Line since Mobile World Congress and CTIA.
Until now, the only big operator to add Movius’ services has been Spanish telco Telefonica, but Movius remains optimistic more will follow.
“This study by Frost & Sullivan further supports the demand we have seen for a solution that enables mobile subscribers to have more than one phone number on a single device,” said Jay Whitehurst, Movius Chief Operating Officer.
After all, all work and no play make mobiles very dull indeed.
One device to rule them all says Movius
