Partnerships: Intrado 911 in Vermont; Postec picks Mocopay; and more

Intrado Inc. said it teamed up with the State of Vermont to deploy new 911 services. The new, statewide 911 system will be based on Internet Protocol technology and uses advanced real-time routing methods. Initial deployments are scheduled to be complete by mid-2011.

Vodacom South Africa launched Openwave Systems Inc.‘s traffic mediation and policy management solution. Openwave’s Integra Service Management Platform will be deployed over multiple regions to enable geographic distribution and redundancy and to increase traffic support. The system is expected to be deployed in time to support the carrier’s increased traffic demands during the 2010 FIFA World Cup tournament this month.

Mocopay announced a strategic partnership with Postec Inc., which provides point of sale solutions and support services. Postec will use Mocopay’s mobile suite, including mMarketing, mLoyalty and mGift, to allow its retail customers tap into mobile technologies and to support existing marketing and sales strategies. Services made possible by Mocopay’s solution include directing clients to stores based on location, mobile payments, checking account balances and reloading mobile accounts.

J&B Software Inc. and Conestoga Bank signed an agreement that allows Conestoga’s customers to deposit checks from camera-equipped smartphones using J&B’s mobile software solution. J&B’s solution combines Mitek Systems Inc.‘s Mobile Deposit functionality with its own workflow, risk management and Check21 clearing solutions.

WIN, which provides interactive information and entertainment content for mobile phones, launched a content service for Planet 3, the mobile portal for Hutchison 3G Austria. The deal calls for Hutchison to outsource part of its content offering to WIN.

Interop Technologies said it will provide its hosted CDMA OTA solution to Puerto Rico-based Open Mobile. The solution will allow Open Mobile to automate point of sale activations, improve customer satisfaction and reduce activation errors and costs, said the company.

Cincinnati Bell Telephone said it deployed Enhanced Telecommunications Inc.‘s Triad Service Delivery Platform for automated flow-through service activation on CBT’s fiber network.

Sierra Wireless selected CSR‘s SiRF starIV GSD4t GPS receiver for its new AirPrime XM0110 GPS module.
