Mobile advertising company Jumptap announced its Passport to Freedom program, which is designed to help mobile developers and publishers increase revenues via ad solutions that run on any device. The program establishes a $4 million fund for new customers and allows them to keep all of their revenue through the end of the year or until the fund is depleted.
PT. First Media TBK announced it launched WiMAX service in Indonesia under the brand name Sitra WiMAX. First Media won 15 megahertz of spectrum in the 2.3 MHz frequency band last year for the service. The company said its network is the first 4G WiMAX network in the country.
WiSpry Inc. said it won a four-year, $48 million Smart Antenna Front End project funded by Denmark’s High Technology Foundation. The company said it will work together with Aalborg University, Molex Interconnect, and Infineon Technologies to develop tunable antennas and RF front ends based on WiSpry’s tunable RF technology.
The A&P supermarket chain launched a promotion aimed at raising money for the Children’s Miracle Network. The Text, Give, Save campaign allows shoppers to text “KIDS” to 90999 on their mobile phone to make a $5 donation to the organization. Once the donation is confirmed, shoppers receive $10 in coupons from Proctor & Gamble.
Phone.com said all of its local and numbers and plans now support short message service send and receive capabilities. The service is available free of charge to the company’s customers.
