Ad shows Android running on Nokia

Nokia is still struggling to take a larger bite out of the smartphone market and retain its position as number one mobile manufacturer in the world, though recent results and growing uneasiness amongst shareholders has given the firm cause to worry.
What with a 40% drop in Nokia’s earnings this quarter, grumbling from developers, the Symbian-Meego fragmentation and the lack of a killer smartphone to rival the iPhone, things are not looking especially rosy up in Helsinki.
It’s even thought that Nokia CEO Olli-Pekka Kallasvuo may be up for the chopping block as the firm shops around for a European version of Apple’s Steve Jobs – Lord help them.
In a mobile world where OSes and apps are king, many feel Nokia has picked a losing team, but Nokia’s new head of ‘Mobile Solutions’ Anssi Vanjoki still seems confident enough that the Finnish phone maker is still a major contender in the mobile OS war, with Symbian and MeeGo limping across the battlefield.
Would Android be a better bet? Many think it’s possible, and an amusing mistake in a recent Nokia commercial drives the point painfully home showing a 5230 and X6 running on Android.

We wonder who is going to cop the flak for this one down at Nokia HQ… ouch!
