Sprint Nextel opens M2M lab

Looking to capitalize on the growing machine-to-machine space, Sprint Nextel Corp. (S) today opened its M2M Collaboration Center in Burlingame, Calif., where the carrier said it will work with partners and enterprise customers to develop “commercially viable offerings” using M2M technology.
The carrier named 30 inaugural members to the centers ecosystem that will be using the center as a working laboratory. Those partners include “premier” partners Axeda, Ericsson, Fusion Wireless Corp., Intel Corp. and Panasonic.
