AT&T Mobility, Sprint Nextel propose spectrum swap

AT&T Mobility (T) and Sprint Nextel Corp. (S) have filed documents with the Federal Communications Commission looking to exchange 1.9 GHz spectrum licenses in a number of markets to help each carrier enhance their existing services.
The proposed swap calls for AT&T Mobility to provide Sprint Nextel with spectrum in Tampa, St. Petersburg, and Clearwater, Fla.; New Orleans; South Bend and Mishawaka, Ind.; Charlotte, Greensboro, and Greenville, N.C.; and Cleveland. In exchange, AT&T Mobility will receive spectrum from Sprint Nextel covering parts of Dallas and Ft. Worth, Texas; Denver; New Orleans and Baton Rouge, La.; Des
Moines and Quad Cities, Iowa; Honolulu; San Francisco, Oakland and San Jose, Calif.; Omaha, Neb.; Louisville, Lexington and Evansville, Ken.; Spokane and Billings, Wash.; and Salt Lake City.
There was no mention in the filing regarding any financial considerations.
