First ten months of 2010, total revenue of China's telecommunication sector reached 2.544 trillion

Dec. 9 (C114) — According to a latest statistics released by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China (MIIT), that from January to October, 2010 (a total of ten months), cumulative revenue of chinese telecommunication industry achieved 2.544 trillion yuan, an increase of 20.7%, of which the major telecom business is 774.8 billion yuan, a growth rate of 6.6%.
Among them, the cumulative revenue of mobile communications reached 520.13 billion yuan, an increase of 11.7%, accounting for 69.84% of the major telecom business. Meanwhile, the cumulative revenue of fixed-line broadband communication network reached 224.66 billion yuan, a decrease of 3.6%, accounting for 30.16% of the main telecommunication services.
With the rapid development of China’s 3G industry, by the end of October 2010, China Mobile, China Unicom and China Telecom’s 3G subscribers reached 38.64 million, of which China Mobile’s TD-SCDMA network had 16.98 million users, accounting for 43.9% of the total number of 3G users.
In addition, during the ten months, 19.187 million Chinese broadband users soared to 123.164 million.
