Both leading telecommunication providers domestically and internationally have agreed to share operational and commercial best practices in fibre optic and IPTV based pay TV services and to develop innovative applications for ultra high speed fixed and wireless networks.
The agreement includes:
* Sharing benchmarks and best practices particularly in operating efficient and effective fibre based fixed line networks
* Collaboration on research and development including joint creation of cross platform applications and solutions
* Leveraging joint scale and assets in wholesale procurement leading to potential cost savings
* Fostering talent pools across the companies including employee secondment programme
In accordance with the agreement, both companies will have access to each other’s expertise and partnership deals in areas such as IPTV and FTTH, as well as the mobile and business markets.
Mr Allen Lew, CEO Singapore, SingTel said: ‘This is an exciting time in telecommunications globally as telcos capitalise on the opportunities arising from the merger of telecoms and media. In order for SingTel to lead and shape our market we have to stay ahead of our competitors.’
‘SingTel is excited to be dreaming big with PT and are confident this agreement will ensure we are both able to create distinctive capabilities inour respective markets,’ he added.
