Wireless Monitoring RTU Products Achieve IP68 Rating

Semaphore, a CSE Global company, announces that the T-BOX ultra-low-power products have successfully passed all third party criteria and testing for Ingress Protection level 68 (IP68). Products with the new approval, including the T-BOX WM Wireless Monitor and T-BOX LP RTU, are now shipping from the factory.
The ultra-low-power, battery-operated Wireless Monitor and LP RTU are ideal for installation in remote areas in which they supervise assets in the chemical, environmental, oil & gas, transportation, utility, and water / wastewater industries. The new rating significantly expands the applications for the compact, fully-integrated package.
The IP68 rating particularly applies to installations in water / wastewater and other industries in which the RTU could be submerged up to four meters for as long as four days. It provides more protection than the Nema 4 rating that is typical of RTU products. The integrated package for the Wireless Monitor and LP RTU has also passed testing for Nema 6.
Using push messaging via e-mail, text, or IP communications, the Wireless Monitor and LP RTU best utilize inexpensive public networks and inform multiple recipients of alarms, live conditions, and historical data logs.
The Wireless Monitor and LP RTU are fully compatible with Semaphore’s T-BOX family of controller and RTU products. T-BOX is the first IP-based telemetry solution that enables the complete integration of SCADA system control and communications functionality in one rugged package. It leverages easy-to-use Web technologies and inexpensive public networks for decentralized monitoring and control systems. T-BOX products offer up to 50% less total installed cost per point versus traditional SCADA/ PLC systems and permit greater organizational access to data through automated reporting and browser software.
Semaphore’s T-BOX RTU products are ideal for a broad range of monitoring and control applications in the broadcast, infrastructure management, oil & gas, power, transportation, and water treatment and distribution industries.
